Joanie Gonella
CPE

Joanie Gonella has a bachelors degree in the field of Neuroscience for the University of California, Irvine and a post-graduate certificate in Pre-Health sciences from Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Gonella obtained her license as a professional Electrologist in California in 2003. She now has 16 years of experience as an electrologist, owns and operates a successful salon in Orange County, California, and is an instructor, administrator and co-owner of California Electrology Academy, one of three electrology schools in California. Recognizing the importance of education, development and modernization, Joanie Gonella regularly gives lectures and seminars both nationally and internationally.

Anna Norman

Anna Norman is a recent graduate of California Electrology Academy and is growing her business, Bright Side Electrolysis, in the Bay Area. Before embarking on this new career, Anna worked in production at ABC News’ “20/20” and “Primetime” along with various shows for National Geographic Television. She managed social media for ClassPass in its startup days and grew a NYC yoga studio’s social following to over 15k in less than 6 months. Follow Anna on Instagram at @BrightSideElectrolysis!

Clement Beaumont
CEO
Dectro International

Mr. Clement Beaumont is the president and CEO of Dectro International, a Canadian corporation that specializes in the conception and manufacturing of electrolysis and esthetic equipment for over 40 years. Mr. Beaumont directs the research and development division of Dectro International that aims to improve permanent hair removal treatment and aesthetic care applications. He contributed to the conception of the first computerized electrolysis system "APILUS", which introduced patented modalities with personalized programs adapted to each body areas that may be stored in a customer file for later retrieval. Mr. Beaumont also developed insulated probes for thermolysis or blend adapted to hairs sizes treatment with the addition of an anti-contaminant protection sleeve, SteriGard, for safety. Mr. Beaumont is regularly traveling around the world to attend international fairs and conventions to assist Dectro's worldwide distributors and to lectures at specialized seminars on electroepilation, photoepilation or aesthetic care technologies.

Johanne Gonella

With more than 40 years of experience both practicing and teaching in Electrology and Aesthetics. Johanne started out in Quebec, Canada, she spent many years teaching, working closely with organizations, government and schools while she owning her own salon. Today, Johanne is the Academic Director and co-owner of California Electrology Academy and the National Training Director of Aesthetic Systems USA located in Corona, California. Johanne continues to teach both working professionals and prospective professionals working hard towards achieving the betterment of the field.

Stephanie Shields

Stephanie Shields is not only an electrologist and laser hair removal specialist but an Electrology educator. She was taught by her mother Maria DeNicola how to do electrolysis in 2004.  Stephanie has diligently worked to be one of the leading electrology & laser technicians in the field seeking out continued education at every turn. In 2014, she was the recipient of the prestigious Ballet Gold Probe Award. Stephanie also received two “AEA President’s Award” for her service to the non-profit. In October 2016, Stephanie was sworn in as the 3rd Vice President of the AEA but later stepping down to focus more on her young family.

Kelly Morrissy

After learning Electrology in 1986 by responding to an ad in the paper, Kelly started her career at Gregory Systems and soon went on to work for herself only 4 years later.  Her small business soon expanded to a business that now employs 4 electrologists, one esthetician and a dedicated husband. Seeking to further her education and involvement in the field of Electrology, Kelly became an AEA member in 1995.  Today Kelly is a Certified Professional Electrologist, President of the Electrology Association of  Illinois and co-owns Illinois Dedicated electrology Academy, Illinois top Electrology School.  Kelly is constantly striving to innovate in the field by collaborating with the manufacturing companies at the heart of it all.
